TV picks for Monday, Oct. 23


“The Big Bang Theory” (8 p.m., CBS): In “The Collaboration Contamination,” Sheldon and Koothrappali confide in Bernadette when they can’t handle Amy and Wolowitz working together. Also, Penny and Leonard learn new tactics for how to deal with Sheldon from an unlikely source.

“Dancing With the Stars” (8 p.m., ABC): Country music legend Shania Twain drops by to serve as a guest judge and perform a new song. Tonight’s episode has the nine remaining couples delivering a salute to the silver screen as they celebrate “A Night at the Movies.” Each couple will attempt to capture the spirit of a specific movie genre – action, foreign, spy, musical, sci-fi, drama, sports or animation – and perform a paso doblé, jazz, rumba, Argentine tango, samba, jive or quickstep.

“The Gifted” (9 p.m., Fox): When the mutants devise a plan to take down Sentinel Services, Eclipse seeks out an old friend from his dark past in order to obtain some useful information. Meanwhile, Lauren and Andy attempt to combine their powers in order to help the group.

“Valor” (9 p.m., The CW): Nora and Gallo are still searching for the truth about what happened in Somalia. Feeling the pressure of the rescue mission, and forced to keep secrets from Ian, Nora tries to lean on Gallo, but he continues to keep her at a distance.

“Scared Famous” (9 p.m., VH1): Redman is the “Master of Scare-a-Monies” for this new competition series that has 10 stars from the world of reality TV enduring “gruesome challenges and terrifying scares.”

“The Good Doctor” (10 p.m., ABC): While in the exam area of St. Bonaventure Hospital, Dr. Shaun Murphy encounters a young patient who looks eerily similar to his deceased brother, Steve. After discovering his parents have hidden his diagnosis from him, Shaun struggles to understand why he doesn’t deserve to hear the truth about his own health. Meanwhile, the team can’t figure out what keeps triggering their patients’ increasingly severe allergic reactions and races to find the cause before the next one kills another patient.

“The Brave” (10 p.m., NBC): When the Ambassador (Charles Webb) is in danger while stationed in Nigeria, Dalton’s team heads to the region to find a situation different than they expected. Jaz makes a connection with a little girl she meets during the mission and Patricia receives some personal news.
