TV tonight: ‘NCIS’ season opener deals with big cliffhanger
TV picks for Tuesday, Sept. 26
“NCIS” (8 p.m., CBS): We’ve got a big cliffhanger to resolve in the Season 15 opener! Two months after Gibbs and McGee were last seen fighting an elusive group of rebels in a Paraguay jungle, the NCIS team in D.C. tirelessly searches for their missing colleagues. Also, Vance and Torres are summoned to a congressional hearing regarding the fallout from the Paraguay mission.
“Lethal Weapon” (8 p.m., Fox): As Season 2 begins, Murtaugh follows Riggs down to Mexico, where he plans to avenge his wife’s death and finish off Tito Flores (guest star Danny Mora) once and for all. Once back in the States, they have a few people to answer to during the ongoing investigation around Flores, including Murtaugh’s family. Meanwhile, Avery is questioned by Internal Affairs about the integrity of his department.
“This Is Us” (9 p.m., NBC): The Season 2 premiere picks up during the Big 3’s 37th birthdays as Randall and Beth debate a big life change, Kate takes the first step in pursuing a new passion and Kevin balances the demands of his career and relationship. “Bull” (9 p.m., CBS): In the Season 2 premiere, Bull joins the district attorney in a case against Kara Clayton (guest star Minka Kelly), who claims she killed her billionaire husband in self-defense. But tensions run high when he learns that his on-again, off-again romantic interest, Diana Lindsay (Jill Flint), is defending the widow. Also, Chunk makes a decision about his future.
“The Mick” (9 p.m., Fox): In the Season 2 premiere, Mickey and the kids are forced to downgrade from their temporary residence at a hotel after their financial advisor cuts them off, due to excessive spending. Mickey and Sabrina refuse to accept the decision and launder up a plan to prevent anyone from stopping their stride. Meanwhile, Jimmy teaches Chip that the tricks to living in a luxurious hotel can be simple.
“Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders” (10 p.m., NBC): The miniseries about one of the most sensational cases of the 1990s begins. After Jose and Kitty Menendez (Carlos Gomez and Lolita Davidovich) are found murdered in their upscale Beverly Hills home, their eldest son, Lyle (Miles Gaston Villanueva), maintains a stoic appearance while his younger brother, Erik (Gus Helper), struggles to deal with overwhelming grief. As detectives Les Zoeller (Sam Jaeger) and Tom Linehan (Cliff Chamberlain) search for the killers, evidence begins to suggest that Lyle and Erik may be the prime suspects. Meanwhile, a tenacious and energetic defense attorney, Leslie Abramson (Edie Falco), takes an interest in the case.
