Ticket prices for 49ers game tonight are insanely low
The price of a ticket to Thursday’s 49ers game at Levi’s Stadium is a sobering lesson of supply and demand: You can still purchase a ticket to the nationally televised game for less than $20.
Yes, $17 to attend an NFL game in 2017.
Of course, you’d still have to pay more than twice that amount to park at the stadium. And you’d have to navigate rush-hour traffic on Highway 101 to get there for the 5:25 p.m. kickoff.
A lackluster matchup awaits those who will show up at Levi’s as the 0-2 49ers are not only searching for their first win against the Los Angeles Rams, but they’ve yet to score a touchdown.
Add it all up and it’s easy to see the reason for the cheap seats.
Stubhub was offering tickets for just $14 on Wednesday, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Some other ticket reselling agencies had seats available for $17 as of Thursday morning.
For comparison’s sake, the cheapest ticket we’ve found for Cal’s home game against USC on Saturday costs more than twice that — Seatgeek.com was selling $47 tickets for the Bears game, if you don’t mind sitting at the top of the stadium behind the end zone.
For further perspective, the cost of two tickets to the 49ers game Thursday is $1 less than an autographed picture of Brian Hoyer, San Francisco’s beleaguered quarterback.
One bargain-hunting Rams fan from San Jose tells us he purchased three $125 face-value seats in the lower bowl, 10 rows up, for $44 apiece on StubHub. That’s a tidy savings of $243.
While there’s little demand for the 49ers supply of tickets Thursday night, don’t think this bargain will last. As Ralph Garcia of TicketIQ told the Chronicle the average ticket price for remaining 49ers home games is $179.
